COVID statement

COVID-19 Update 23rd February 2021

Following the most recent Government announcement, those mentors who have felt comfortable doing so will continue to provide face to face support to their young people.  As always, they will adhere to all relevant guidelines and good practice.  Where circumstances do not permit such face to face work, other mentors will maintain contact by continuing to use a variety of different ways to offer virtual support.

We remain hopeful that it will be possible to run our next planned training course in April.  All courses will be run within any regulations and guidance that pertains at that time.

With training delayed until April at the earliest, we will not have any new mentors to match until after that time.  Consequently, given the current length of our waiting list, we will not be in a position to accept any new referrals until the end of March at the earliest.

We have a small number of trained mentors who are waiting their first match or who are ready to be re-assigned after closure of an older relationship.  Many have been waiting for some time so, as confidence returns, we have begun, tentatively, to complete these matches.  Thus, a handful of young people will be introduced to a mentor over the next month.

If you are a professional with an urgent referral enquiry, please do call us to discuss the case
on 0300 365 1900 or email mentoring@PROMISEworks.org.uk.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support us through these difficult time – your help has been invaluable.
