Robert Peto

Chair

Robert’s wife Sue has been a mentor for many years. Through her work, Robert has seen the incredible effect that a mentor can have on a young person’s life. He has been instrumental in the creation of this operational charity. He joined the Board in 2017 and has served as Chair since then.

Robert is a chartered surveyor who has worked in the commercial property world in the UK and abroad for more than 50 years. While chairman of DTZ UK for 10 years, he was responsible for a staff of around 2,000 people in 16 offices. He involved the company in Prince Charles’ charity Business in the Community and godfathered the charitable giving programme.

He was also global president of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) in 2010/11, a member of the Bank of England Property Advisory Group from 2007 to 2011, and Surveyor to the Worshipful Company of Armourers and Brasiers from 1997 to 2016.

Robert has recently retired from chairing two publicly-quoted property companies, and a non-executive director of several private property companies including Bath & West Enterprises Ltd, a subsidiary of the charity The Royal Bath & West Society.
