Sarah Taylor

Sedgemoor Area Co-ordinator –
Trauma Lead

Sarah’s recent background in education has given her insight into many of the problems faced by our children and young people. She joins us as Case Holder for Sedgemoor.

Sarah spent 20 years working in insurance and financial services before giving that up in 2011 to move to Somerset with her family.

A change of direction found her working in a school and studying for a degree through the Open University with plans to become a teacher. Through her studies and during her 6 years working in school, Sarah developed a passion for supporting vulnerable children and young people and was delighted to join the PROMISEworks team in April 2021 as Sedgemoor Area Coordinator.  Since that time, Sarah has broadened her studies with a special interest in childhood trauma.

Sarah says:

“PROMISEworks really is a fantastic charity making a big difference in the lives of young people.  I absolutely love my job but some parts of it stand out. Training mentors is always rewarding; there is often a moment when the penny drops and they understand how they can make a difference. It’s also a privilege to chat over coffee with a mentor and hear about their successes and challenges; witnessing first-hand the genuine affection and compassion they hold for their mentee.”
